Dixie Belle No Pain Gel Stain in Cedar brings a medium warm brown with gentle reddish undertones to furniture and wood projects. This oil-based gel stain lets you build the colour, from a lighter finish to a deeper look.

How to Use Dixie Belle No Pain Gel Stain

  • Step 2: Test the stain on a small area to make sure it is
    the colour you want. Allow 72 hours before staining on fresh paint.
  • Note: Stains can be applied with a lint-free cloth, paint
    brush or applicator pad.
  • Step 3: Apply stain and wipe back excess product.
  • Step 4: Apply additional coats for desired coverage.
  • Note: Does not require sealing but
    we highly recommend sealing this oil-based stain with Dixie Belle Gator Hide. Wait at least 72 hours ( about 3 days) before applying.
  • Stain must be completely dry!

Can I apply Gator Hide Varnish over No Pain Gel Stain?

Yes, you can apply Dixie Belle Gator Hide over this gel stain to give it a tough, water-repellent finish. However, because Gator Hide is water-based and No Pain Gel Stain is oil-based, you must allow the gel stain to cure completely for a minimum of 72 hours in a warm, dry room before applying your topcoat.

How do I apply No Pain Gel Stain?

For best results, apply a thin coat using a dedicated applicator pad or a lint-free cloth. Wipe the stain on in the direction of the wood grain, let it sit for a few minutes to penetrate, and then use a clean cloth to buff away any excess product.

Do I need to sand the furniture before applying gel stain?

Unlike traditional watery stains, gel stain sits slightly on top of the surface, meaning it can be applied over existing finishes. However, we highly recommend a light scuff-sand and a thorough clean to ensure the surface is free of oils, dirt, or wax for optimal adhesion.
